Did you know that many of the problems with swing motors result from the installation quotas not being respected?
Unfortunately, this is still a recurring problem in the installation of swing gate motors, causing serious damage to the engine mechanics. Therefore, it is extremely important to respect the quotas mentioned in the product manuals.
How is this problem caused?
With the dimensions too low (below the dimensions mentioned in the manual), the motor will exert a force parallel to the gate and not in the direction of opening or closing, thus generating excessive pressure on the motor and the gate. The main symptom of this problem is when the gate starts closing with bumps, instead of smooth and continuous speed. As a consequence, mechanical parts will exhibit abnormal wear due to excessive effort, causing short-term problems.
How to avoid installation problems?
The good installation of this type of automation involves mainly fixing the motors always with the mandatory installation quota, preferably at the highest permitted values. This way, the motor will have the necessary angle so that, when starting a maneuver, it is able to exert force in the direction of the gate's movement and not parallel to it.
In order to facilitate the installation of our automatisms, we have in our product manuals all the recommended quota values, so that the engine can run smoothly.
We hope this information has been useful and will help you with the installation of your next automation.
